Psychologists undergo rigorous training during their education and must complete thousands of hours of supervised practice in order to become licensed to practice independently. Psychologists all must receive continuing education on a regular basis in order to stay current on a variety of topics to maintain licensure. Psychologists are the only mental health professionals that are qualified to administer psychological testing services.
